Ellen DeGeneres has become the most controversial name on social media nowadays after her receiving of the 2020 People’s Choice Award for the best daytime talk show which was clouded in controversy this summer following reports of workplace toxicity and sexual misconduct allegations among producers.
62-year-old Ellen appeared in-person at the hybrid ceremony on Sunday night and conveyed her gratitude towards her stuff directly by saying “I am not only accepting this award for myself, I’m accepting it on the behalf of my amazing crew, my amazing staff, who make this show possible,” She also included, “They show up every single day, they give a 100 percent of themselves, a 100 percent of the time.”
She Apologised by saying sorry to the people who were affected and on an optimistic note, hoped to start “a new chapter” with the show’s 270 employees, whom she said she had been connecting with through Zoom prior to the premiere.
She also thanked the people for supporting and staying beside her throughout the controversy and make her win the 2020 People’s Choice Award.
Despite all of her humble attitude on stage, many of Ellens’ critics took to social media and started questioning how someone could earn a PCA amid such controversies that surrounded the daytime talk show in 2020.
