Imphal A case of a militant attack has come to light in Manipur in which 3 Assam Rifles soldiers were killed. The attack took place in Chandel district, 100 km from the state capital. Let me tell you that the operation was being carried out against the militant groups on the Indo-Myanmar border, in which the militants opened fire on the soldiers. After this attack, 4 jawans are in critical condition. According to sources, the militants belonged to the People’s Liberation Army, a local group.
The vigil has also been increased on the Indo-Myanmar border after this incident. Significantly, last year too, soldiers were attacked in this area. Militants also attacked the Assam Rifles camp near Chandel district in November 2019. Bombs were thrown at the camp. After this there was firing from both sides. The militants later escaped.
No army personnel were killed in this attack. Since independence, more than 750 soldiers of Assam Rifles have been martyred in the fight with militants. Militant organizations are believed to get arms and economic from China.
