new Delhi. The lockdown caused by the corona virus has affected the migrant laborers most. Not only this, this lockdown has brought them to the streets because thousands of workers are forced to go home on foot due to loss of employment. Due to which many laborers have lost their lives. In such a situation, the Supreme Court has taken notice of the petition related to migrant laborers and issued notice to all the state governments including the Center.
Please tell that 20 senior advocate of the Supreme Court had written a letter to the Supreme Court on Monday about the plight of migrant laborers. The very next day, the Supreme Court took notice of the petition of the migrant laborers. The court has issued a notice to the Center and all the governments, ordering them to respond till Thursday. The Supreme Court will hear the case on May 28, telling the Central and State Governments in the court what are the necessary steps they have taken so far to improve the status of migrant laborers.
Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala also reached the court after the Supreme Court took cognizance of the plight of the migrant laborers. He asked the court for permission to argue on the matter and on Thursday his petition will also be taken up for hearing along with the case.
