Chennai. Tamil Nadu government relaxed the lockdown rules and has given permission to open salons and beauty parlors in the state with some conditions from Sunday. But this will not be allowed in areas under the Chennai Police and in the Kovid-19 Containment Zone.

Chief Minister EK Palaniswami said in a statement on Saturday that salons and beauty parlors can be opened between 7 am and 7 pm in all corporations, municipalities and panchayat areas except Chennai with certain conditions.

Salons and beauty parlors have been told to strictly follow the physical distance rules. Wearing masks will be mandatory for customers and employees. In addition, they will have to wash their hands regularly with soap. People with fever or cold symptoms will not be allowed to enter the salon.

Palaniswami said that salons and beauty parlors would have to ensure that the people working here did not belong to the containment zone. Salons and beauty parlors must sanitize five times a day. The Chief Minister said that since 19 May, barbers working in rural areas were allowed to work and now they can work in the entire state except the areas under the Chennai Police and Kovid-19 Containment Zone .
