Chennai. The Tamil Nadu government relaxed the lockdown rules and has allowed auto and cycle rickshaws to run in the state from Saturday. But they will not be allowed in areas under the Chennai Police and in the Containment Zone. The announcement was made in an official release on Friday by the state government. According to the release, between 7 am and 7 pm, auto and cycle rickshaws will be allowed to run conditionally.

Only one passenger will be allowed to sit in both, while drivers will have to sanitize their autos and cycle rickshaws three times a day. Wearing masks will be mandatory for drivers and riders. Cleanliness has to be taken care of during this time and drivers will have to wash their hands with soap at regular intervals.

They will not be allowed to run in areas under the Chennai Police and in the Containment Zone, as there are far more cases of corona virus (Kovid-19) infection.
